According to Reuters, the assistance on Ukraine from all over the world is being continued. On Mar 19th, Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council Secretary Oleksiy Danilov said in a televised interview that Ukraine would receive a new shipment of U.S. weapons within these days, including Javelin and Stinger missiles.
On Mar 20th, the Australian government said it would donate at least 70,000 tons of coal to Ukraine to meet its energy needs. In addition, Australia would cooperate with Whitehaven Coal company and the Ukrainian and Polish governments to deliver the supplies at the earliest available opportunity. The government also pledged additional military equipment and humanitarian aid to Ukraine. In the meantime, Australia has imposed an immediate ban on exports of alumina and aluminum ores, including bauxite, to Russia as part of its ongoing sanctions against Moscow’s invasion on Ukraine. Given that Australia accounts for nearly 20 percent of Russian alumina needs, this move would limit Russia’s capacity to produce aluminum, which is a critical export to Russia.
