In response, Vietnam’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Le Thi Thu Hang said on the 7th that some of the waters involved in the above announcement by the CCP belong to Vietnam’s exclusive economic zone and continental shelf as determined by the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea.

Le Thi Thu Hang said the Vietnamese side demanded that Communist China respect and not violate Vietnam’s exclusive economic zone and continental shelf and refrain from acts that would complicate the situation.
